The YIP Smart Tag has an approximate battery life of one year. When the battery level falls to 20%, you will receive a notification in Apple Find My. You can also see how much battery life is left by viewing the tag's information in the Apple Find My app.
When the battery is low, you will want to replace it with a new 2032 coin cell battery. This battery size is very common and can be purchased in most hardware stores, pharmacies, and grocery stores.
1. Using a quarter, remove the back cover.
2. Using your finger nail, pull back the battery tab and press on the battery at the 5 O'clock position. This will cause the top of the battery to release. Now remove the old battery.
3. Insert a new 2023 coin cell battery into the battery slot. On the battery, make sure the plus sign (+) is facing up. Now press down firmly to ensure the battery catch is holding the new battery in place. You will hear a tone once the battery has been properly inserted.
4. Snap on the back cover. To ensure proper fit, make sure the YIP logo on the back cover is facing the correct way.
