Like other smart tags that work with the Google Find Hub network, the YIP Smart Tag does not contain GPS. Instead, the YIP Smart Tag uses Bluetooth technology to communicate with nearby Android devices that participate in the Google Find Hub network.
When your YIP Smart Tag is within Bluetooth range of an Android device participating in the Find Hub network, that Android device can detect the tag and securely send its location to the Google Find Hub network. The location is then made available to you through the Google Find Hub app.
The Google Find Hub network is a crowdsourced network made up of participating Android devices around the world. This means your YIP Smart Tag does not need to be within range of your own smartphone to have its location detected. Another participating Android device can detect your YIP Smart Tag and anonymously help update its location.
