If your phone is running an Android version older than Android 9.0, it may not be compatible with the YIP Smart Tag through Google Find Hub.
If you are unsure which version of Android your phone uses, check the Android version in your phone's Settings.
The easiest rule to remember:
Android 9.0 or newer = compatible
Android 8 or older = not compatible with Google Find Hub tracker tags
Because phone manufacturers can provide software updates for older phones, the year your phone was manufactured is not by itself a guarantee of compatibility. Always check the Android version on your phone to be sure.
